Pronunciation warm-up: ship / sheep
Read each pair aloud if you like: ship /ʃɪp/ · sheep /ʃiːp/. The first vowel is /ɪ/ as in “sit”; the second is /iː/ as in “see.” Keep the opening /ʃ/ (“sh”) and ending /p/ steady while the vowel changes.
